Be Empowered
My approach to therapy is person centered as my philosophy is that though I'm a trained professional, each person is the expert on his or her own life and what they aspire for it to be. Most often I use a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach. I also often use techniques from additional models including Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and elements of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I have also received training in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Discernment Counseling for couples. My approach is determined by the individual's needs and identified treatment goals.
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor with over ten years experience working in mental health. I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology and my Master's in Human Services with a concentration in Mental Health Counseling. Over the course of my career I have worked with individuals suffering from depression, anxiety, psychosis, trauma, and those experiencing marriage and family conflict. I have provided services in various settings including offices, the community, emergency departments, an inpatient hospital, and online. I am also a Certified Life Coach.
Areas of Specialization
I enjoy working with clients who may be dealing with life transitions, relationship concerns, marital difficulties, transition to adulthood, low self-esteem, grief, depression, and anxiety.
